The ultra-anticipated UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) card is supposed to be the biggest event in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) history.
With a slew of former champions, rising contenders, and top prospects gracing the card, UFC 200 doesn’t seem to have too many holes. Chalk that up to UFC matchmaker Joe Silva.
But despite a well-rounded group of bouts, UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor will not be part of the festivities. As the biggest star in mixed martial arts (MMA) today, the Irishman was born and bred to fight at UFC 200. Unfortunately, failed media obligations have led to his removal from the card and put his rematch with Nate Diaz on ice.
In McGregor’s absence, former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones and current divisional titleholder Daniel Cormier will finally lock horns in a rematch. Jones recently took to Instagram to thank “Notorious” for the main event spot on the biggest card in promotional history:

With the biggest name in the sport being cast aside, fellow UFC superstar Jones will have the opportunity to regain any notoriety he lost over the past year. UFC 200 is the perfect avenue for “Bones” to reaffirm his pound-for-pound status.
