Francisco Trevino wasn’t too thrilled with Herb Dean after the referee decided to put a halt to the action early in the first round at UFC 192 in Houston, Texas, after Sage Northcutt unloaded a fury of punches on him.
From the looks of it (video replay here), it seemed like a legit stoppage.
After the call, Trevino pushed Dean and proceeded to lash out at him verbally. A big no-no for Ultimate Fighting Championship officials, as Dave Sholler revealed during the post-fight press conference (see it again here) that Trevino will likely face disciplinary action later this week for his actions.

“I have to say this again, unfortunately. Never is it acceptable to put your hands on any official, UFC staff member or anybody not actually associated with the action inside the Octagon other than your opponent. It’s unfortunate that it happened, I know he was frustrated that he missed weight and then obviously getting overwhelmed by Sage. The truth of the matter is that we will regroup on Monday as we always do on disciplinary type actions. But, it’s just completely unacceptable. And the commission, to your point, will also have a say in that.”
