Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre wants to make his long-awaited return to mixed martial arts (MMA), after stepping away from the hurt business in late 2013.

Safe to say fans would welcome him back with open arms.

But don’t expect him to “Rush” into a new contract. Not because he’s trying to nickel and dime his new (and old) employers, but rather because the Reebok sponsorship — implemented after St-Pierre skipped town — will force him to take a financial hit.

That said, promotion president Dana White believes the real reason the pay-per-view (PPV) “king” is still on the bench is because he lost the desire to compete (read those comments here).

“He doesn’t know anything about me,” St-Pierre told UFC Tonight. “I’m a smart person. Let me fight once and you’ll see in the first minute of the first fight it’s all wrong. Let me fight Tyron Woodley and he’ll see. I’m not angry at him. It’s like a game. Let me fight once and you’ll see in first minute.”

In addition to Woodley, “Rush” is interested in making a “run” and would be open to fighting Nick Diaz and Demian Maia.

St-Pierre (25-2), who was recently texting “The Chosen One” about a potential championship showdown, is teasing his return for the upcoming UFC 206 PPV event on Dec. 10, 2016 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The 35-year-old gymnast hasn’t competed since capturing a split-decision win over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167.

So, St-Pierre vs. Woodley at UFC 206 … who wants it?
