At UFC 83 back in April 19, 2008, Georges St-Pierre took on Matt Serra in hopes to avenge his UFC 69 loss to the American and regain his welterweight title. That night in Montreal, St-Pierre was able to stop the champion, scoring a second-round technical knockout.
Now, almost 10 years later, St-Pierre returns to the Octagon after taking a four-year break from the sport. The former welterweight champ will be moving up a weight class to challenge UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping in the headlining slot of UFC 217. The event takes place this Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
