Brad Pickett has a new opponent for his retirement bout at UFC Fight Night 107.
The Englishman will be fighting short-notice replacement Marlon Vera in a bantamweight bout for next week’s UFC event in London, the UFC announced on Saturday.
Pickett was originally scheduled to fight Henry Briones, but the Mexican fighter was forced to withdraw from the bout due to an eye injury sustained during sparring on Tuesday, which he revealed through his Facebook. The cancellation of the bout marked the third time Briones withdrew from a scheduled bout with Pickett.
Now, Pickett will look to walk away from the sport with a win in his hometown, while Vera will look to build off a decision win over Ning Guangyou last November.
UFC Fight Night 107 takes place on March 18 at the The O2 Arena in London, England. Light heavyweights Jimi Manuwa and Corey Anderson are set to battle in the main event of the card.
