Reports that Cejudo broke his ankle are untrue as he continues to prepare for his fight against Sergio Pettis at UFC 218.

As wildfires continue to devastate parts of Norther California, a crazy story emerged involving a bunch of Olympic and pro athletes escaping Santa Rosa together following a celebrity fundraiser. Barry Bonds, Bret Saberhagen, Joe Carter, Eric Gagne and more were forced to make a quick escape, filling their cars with as many fellow athletes as possible.

Also there: flyweight contender and former Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo, who Saberhagen said had to jump from the balcony of his hotel room to escape the blaze and broke his ankle. Life threatening situation aside, that had some wondering whether he’d be able to make it for his UFC 218 bout against Sergio Pettis on December 2nd in Detroit, Michigan.

According to his manager Ali Abdelaziz, Cejudo will indeed fight. Via MMA Junkie:

“He woke up to the fire alarm, but he thought it was just a false alarm so he went back to sleep,” Abdelaziz told MMAjunkie. “He woke up at 4 a.m. to his room being filled with smoke. He had no choice but to jump (from the balcony) on the second floor. He landed on some fire and burned his foot. He’s safe.”

Unfortunately, his material possessions didn’t fare as well. Cejudo made it out of the room with nothing but his cell phone, leaving behind the 55kg freestyle wrestling gold medal he won at the 2008 Olympics and several other awards.

Cejudo showed up on Instagram as well to display the foot in question.

Hey everybody just want to say thank you for the love and support. Prayers to all the families that lost somebody in the fire. I’m doing fine and my foot isn’t broken but I did burn my foot on the way down after jumping out the window. It’s just a long story but I’ll keep you guys posted when I do a interview. As of now I’m on my way to Natal, Brazil to take care of business at #ufc218
