Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is starting to announce fights for its debut in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, as Henry Cejudo and Wilson Reis are expected to throw hands at the upcoming UFC 216 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which is locked and loaded for Sept 9, 2017. UFC made the bout official earlier this afternoon.
Cejudo was all set to throw down against Sergio Pettis at UFC 211 last month in Dallas, Texas, but was ultimately bounced from the event because of an untimely injury. As a result, Pettis was subsequently booked to battle Brandon Moreno at UFC Fight Night 114 on Aug. 5, 2017 in Mexico, City, Mexico. Cejudo will look to bounce back from back-to-back defeats at the hands of Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez.
Reis, meanwhile, recently came up short in his bid to dethrone “Mighty Mouse” from the top of the 125-pound mountain, losing to the feisty scrapper via third round submission at UFC on FOX 24.
The promotion also announced a women’s Bantamweight fight between Ashlee Evans-Smith and Sarah Moras will take place at UFC 216.
