As it does most weeks, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) updated its official rankings to reflect the results of its latest mixed martial arts (MMA) event.
This week’s change came in the aftermath of UFC on FOX 23: “Shevchenko vs. Pena,” which took place last Saturday night (Jan. 28, 2017) inside Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
See the updated rankings here.
As expected, there was significant movement from the winners and losers, including Jorge Masvidal and Francis Ngannou, as well as Julianna Pena and Donald Cerrone (see all the results here).
One thing that was perhaps not expected, was the disappearance of three notable contenders. Namely, welterweight veteran Rick Story (19-9), 170-pound standout Lorenz Larkin (18-5, 1 NC), and light heavyweight prospect Misha Cirkunov (13-2).
Misha Cirkunov, Lorenz Larkin & Rick Story have been removed from latest UFC rankings. I’m told none are currently under UFC contract.

All three fighters have performed well in recent years and it would not come as a surprise to see any or all of them re-sign with the world’s largest combat sports promotion (or not).
