Hey, the White House responded to the Nick Diaz petition! Well, a White House intern more likely responded to the petition, but whatever.
After collecting over 115,000 signatures asking the executive branch to look into the Nevada Athletic Commission’s stupid and idiotic questionable five-year ban of Nick Diaz for testing positive for traces of the devil’s lettuce, the White House responded to the petition in true governmental fashion.
To paraphrase the White House statement, they wrote, “It ain’t our problem.”
Well damn. To the quotage, courtesy of America’s tax dollars!
“Thank you for your petition regarding the Nevada Athletic Commission’s suspension of Nick Diaz.
The federal government plays no role in the disciplinary actions taken by state athletic commissions, so we are not in a position to address the specific request raised in your petition. State authorities — in this case, the Nevada Athletic Commission — will generally be the best source for information about those kinds of issues.”
Oh well. You gave it a good effort, America. And while the White House might not think this is worth their time, the Athletic Commission did, after all, give it a second thought and things might be getting better for Nick Diaz and crew.
