First she got her own month. Now, she gets her own parade.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm will be honored by her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico, for her knockout win over Ronda Rousey at the UFC 193 pay-per-view (PPV) event last month in Australia.

“The media attention’s been crazy, the fans, the people. My phone alone has had so many texts and messages, I can’t get to them all,” coach Mike Winkeljohn told KOB 4. “I know she’s at a whole different level where she can’t get back to all of her fans and family and friends that want something from her. She’s going to make sure she takes care of everybody; that’s how Holly is.”
The parade takes place this Sunday (Dec. 6, 2015) in City Plaza at 4 p.m. local time.
Holm (10-0), who some are already calling the greatest of all time, is the first athlete to win world titles in both boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA). Her first title defense is expected to be a rematch against Rousey, depending on the ex-champ’s timetable for return.
