Ian Heinisch’s first time under the UFC banner will be for a short-notice bout against Cezar Ferreira at UFC Argentina, sources confirmed to MMA Fighting following a report by Combate.
UFC’s first trip to Buenos Aires is scheduled for Nov. 17 at the Parque Roca Arena.
Heinisch (11-1), who replaces Tom Breese on the South American card, signed with the promotion after stopping Justin Sumter in the first round at Dana White’s Contender Series in July. “The Hurricane” is a former LFA interim middleweight champion.
Ferreira (13-6), winner of the first edition of TUF Brazil in 2012, won five of his last six bouts inside the Octagon, defeating the likes of Anthony Smith, Nate Marquardt, Thiago Santos, Sergio Moraes and Andrew Craig throughout his 13-fight career in the UFC.
A welterweight bout between Argentina’s own Santiago Ponzinibbio and Neil Magny will serve as the main event for the Fight Night show.
