Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight smashing machine Wanderlei Silva, who recently inked a multi-year deal with RIZIN FF, is already planning his mixed martial arts (MMA) future for when his current disciplinary suspension expires.
But don’t expect to see a 185-pound return (via MMA Fighting).
“I’d like to ask for an openweight division, to give the chance for every fighter in the world who believes they can come here and defeat Wanderlei Silva to try it. We have the most aggressive rules in the world, and under those rules I can fight anyone. Stay ready, Wanderlei Silva is here. I will stomp the face of those who try to fight me, I will knock everyone out in this tournament. At openweight, I’m ready to face anyone, from any weight.”
I hear this guy might be interested.
Silva, fresh off his recent contract with Bellator MMA (more on that here), was cut by UFC last year after running afoul of Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). Not that it’s kept him from competing, mind you, but as far as legitimate MMA action, that will have to wait.
See you (and your face) in 2017!
