The UFC 206: Cormier vs. Johnson fight card has been reduced by one bout.
UFC officials on Wednesday announced that Canadian Chad Laprise was forced out of his bout with Li Jingliang due to injury. With the fight card having swelled to 14 bouts recently, the decision was made to move Jingliang to a future card.
The Dec. 10 event at Air Canada Centre in Toronto will proceed with 13 bouts, including two that were defects from the recent UFC 205 card in New York City.
A middleweight bout between Tim Kennedy and Rashad Evans was moved to UFC 206 after the New York State Athletic Commission nixed it for Madison Square Garden. The commission had concerns about Evans’ MRI, which showed some undisclosed irregularities. Evans, however, has said that follow-up tests indicated he was fine and he was not concerned about his health being a factor.

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone was supposed to have fought Kelvin Gastelum in a welterweight bout on the UFC 205 main card. Gastelum, however, didn’t attempt to weigh-in for the fight, as UFC president Dana White indicated that the fighter would have been somewhere around 10 pounds over the limit.
That fight was nixed at the last minute, and Cerrone was rebooked for UFC 206. He will now face Matt Brown in Toronto.
