Another injury has forced Bobby Green off of a UFC card.
UFC lightweight veteran Beneil Dariush is in need of a new opponent, as Bobby Green has pulled out of their UFC 222 matchup with an undisclosed injury. MMA Fighting confirmed a report from Farah Hannoun on Wednesday.
Green (24-8-1) has had a lengthy history of injuries that have led to him withdrawing from events. This is the fifth time it’s happened in the UFC, and he also had an injury scrap a Strikeforce bout vs. Alonzo Martinez. Green recently scored a unanimous decision win over Erik Koch at UFC on FOX 27 last month.
Dariush (14-3-1) last competed at UFC 216 in October, going to a majority draw with Evan Dunham. The 28-year-old was also knocked out by Edson Barboza in March, meaning he’s without a win since November 2016, when he triumphed over Rashid Magomedov by decision.
UFC 222 takes place on March 3rd in Las Vegas, Nevada, and features a women’s featherweight championship main event between titleholder Cris Cyborg and Yana Kunitskaya. The co-main sees Frankie Edgar battle Brian Ortega in an important featherweight tilt.
