There has been a lot of talk recently about mixed martial artists organizing to form a fighter’s union. There are several competing organizations with varying interests trying to accomplish such a difficult task, leading mostly to scattered results, at best.
Although he knows that it will take fighters like him at the top of the food chain for any chance for a fighters union to be successful, featherweight champion Conor McGregor, at a UFC 202 media day in Las Vegas, said he’s not quite ready to back such an effort.
“Right now, I’ve got to focus on myself. That might be selfish, but this is the position I’m in right now. I’ve a lot going on. I’ve got to focus on myself right now.”
