Maybe Jason Miller’s planned return to fighting was supposed to represent a fresh start. But so far, we seem to be getting more of his same old act.

The troubled Miller was arrested the morning of February 7 in Irvine, Calif. for suspicious of driving under the influence, according to Orange County public arrest records. He was released later that day and is due to appear in a local court on March 7.

This is the latest in a string of incidents involving the fighter nicknamed “Mayhem,” of Mission Viejo, Calif. The 37-year-old Miller was involved in a pair of alleged violent incidents involving police last year alone, the first a brawl outside a Laguna Beach nightclub in March and the second an incident involving an alleged assault of a policeman.

According to a report published on TMZ.com, because of Miller’s past history of violence toward law enforcement, approximately 15 police officers and a K9 unit were on hand for his arrest in Irvine, although there was no physical confrontation this time.

Monday, it was announced Miller would fight for the Italy-based Venator FC, where he’d meet the promotion’s middleweight champion, Luke Barnatt, on a May 21 event in Milan. That would be Miller’s first fight since May 2012, in which his lost to C.B. Dollaway in the UFC. There was no immediate comment from the promotion on the situation.
