Joe Carr, senior executive of content and international, departing the UFC

Another senior executive of the UFC is leaving the company.

Joe Carr, the UFC’s senior vice president and head of content and international, is departing the organization, sources close to the situation told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani on Friday. The UFC also confirmed the news.

Carr arrived at the UFC in 2012 with a background in real estate private equity. A Boston native, Carr became a major factor in the UFC’s efforts to expand internationally as well as the development of UFC Fight Pass.

The departure is the latest in a series of high-profile exits by senior executives from the UFC over the past two years, some of which were due to layoffs following the July 2016 purchase of the UFC by talent agency WME-IMG, and some of which — like the cases of former matchmaker Joe Silva and former public relations boss Dave Sholler — were of the individual’s own volition.

Carr’s departure from the organization falls into the latter category, sources told Helwani.
