John Dodson Agrees to Terms with the UFC on a New Multi-Fight Contract

John Dodson isn’t going anywhere but back to the UFC Octagon.

The former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ winner, who entered free agency after his last win over Pedro Munhoz, has agreed to a new multi-fight contract with the UFC.

Dodson’s manager Ricky Kottenstette confirmed the news to MMAWeekly on Wednesday. The news was initially reported by MMAFighting.

According to Kottenstette, Dodson always felt like he wanted to return to the UFC because his goal to become bantamweight champion has never changed. Dodson holds a knockout win over current champion T.J. Dillashaw after they met in the finals of their season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’.

Dodson’s manager added that the top 10 ranked bantamweight is currently targeting a return to action sometime in August or beyond with plans to spend some time at home with family in the immediate future.

The perfect timing for his next fight would be UFC 227 on Aug. 4 in Los Angeles, but Kottenstette says that nothing has been confirmed at this time about Dodson’s next bout.

For now, Dodson will enjoy the fact that he’s agreed to terms for his new deal and he will remain a UFC fighter for the immediate future.
