Jon Jones betting odds: Alexander Gustafsson favored as next opponent for UFC star’s return

29 0

USADA has recently ruled that polarizing MMA icon Jon Jones would receive a backdated 15-month suspension for a positive drug test for turinabol, making the 22-1 former UFC light heavyweight champion eligible to compete again as soon as UFC 230 on November 3, 2018. The oddsmakers over at BetDSI are up to speed on Jones’ situation, and have released a group of future prop bets surrounding the fallen king’s potential next steps.

Among said future prop bets will be which opponent Jones will face next. The odds list Alexander Gustafsson at +160 as the most likely candidate to next face Jones, with Daniel Cormier right behind him at +185. BetDSI also named possible opponents Stipe Miocic at +300 and Brock Lesnar at +400, with the field, or any fighter not listed, clocking in at +550.

Since Jones will be eligible to compete at UFC 230 on November 3, there has been quite a bit of buzz circulating around about whether or not he would actually make his return on that date. Will Jon Jones compete at UFC 230? The oddsmakers do not seem to think so, listing ‘No’ with a substantially favored moneyline of -380, with ‘yes’ dropping as a sizable underdog at +260.

Jon Jones is no stranger to, shall we say mishaps? The oddsmakers are quite privy to this information and even have a prop bet as to whether or not Jones will be suspended in 2019. ‘No’ sports the favored line at -200 while ‘yes’ sits at a slight underdog tag of +150. It’s kind of crazy to think of how tight that line is considering we are talking about a human being making future blunders, but history has shown off a way of repeating itself.
