Jon Jones is just about fed up of defending his UFC light heavyweight title, and the pound-for-pound No. 1 wants a fresh challenge.

The JacksonWink protege vented on Twitter about the lack of interesting contenders in his native division before teasing of a heavyweight showdown with Francis Ngannou, which he feels is somewhat inevitable.

“Really not sure when I’ll be fighting next, feel like I have nothing to gain by beating Dominic,” Jones said of a possible title fight versus Dominick Reyes. “I’ve actually felt that way about my last two opponents. I want a super fight.”

“Had a chip on my shoulder against Gus. Fighting Smith Santos Dominic??? I’m having a hard time even talking shit to this last dude. They all say the same lame shit.. I want a fight to be excited about,” he added.

“Where did all the big names in the light heavyweight division go?”

“Sometimes I think about sitting out and just training for the next two years, then coming back and challenge in the light heavyweight who’s been the most dominant.. wouldn’t that be wild.”

“I feel like that fight is inevitable,” Jones responded when asked about a potential fight with Ngannou.

Jones who, despite numerous failed drug tests is still considered the greatest MMA fighter of all-time, last fought at UFC 239, where he edged a split decision win over Thiago Santos to retain his light heavyweight title.

Ngannou, 33, is on a three-fight KO streak and is itching for a title shot against the winner of the proposed championship trilogy bout between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier.
