As usual, all of the mixed martial arts (MMA) community took to Twitter last night immediately following Glover Teixeira’s devastating first-round knockout of Rashad Evans in the main event of UFC on FOX 19 in Tampa, Florida.
See the full video replay here.
And while we obviously like to see what fellow fighters like to say, it’s a bit more interesting to see what many in the Light Heavyweight division have to say. After all, Glover made some loud noise and put the division on notice with the win.
That said, take a look and see what current division champion Daniel Cormier had to say about “Suga’s” loss:
Can’t allow @gloverteixeira to just walk you down. @SugaRashadEvans my brother keep ur head up! Love you bro. #keepgrinding

As for Jones, who has had a rather rocky history with his former training partner, he didn’t gloat, but rather offered up some sympathy.
Yeah, I actually felt really bad for him. I’m sure he trained really hard for that fight https://t.co/LXrXzatH2G

The loss was Rashad’s second straight defeat, though he doesn’t plan on hanging them up just yet.
As for Cormier and Jones, their beef was put on hold — for the time being — as “Bones” will now face Ovince Saint Preux at next weekend’s (Sat., April 23, 2016) UFC 197 event in Las Vegas, Nevada.
