Being from New York, I’m sure Jon Jones remembers this guy.
The good news is, Floyd Mayweather Jr. can call “Bones,” but he won’t for reasons yet to be determined. Hey, I’m sure “Money” is a busy fella now that he’s retired and off doing … whatever it is rich folks do when they have more money than most third-world countries.
Nevertheless, Jones told TMZ he’s still waiting for that call.
“Floyd Mayweather called me and we had a nice long conversation about doing some things together and I haven’t heard from his since. Floyd … c’mon man, give me a call! I would love to work with Floyd Mayweather I really respect a lot of the things he’s been able to do in business and he’s unarguably the most successful combatant who’s ever done it, so being in line with a great champion like him would be awesome.”
Mr. Telephone Man…
Mayweather expressed interest in adding Jones to “The Money Team” just last month. Probably because the UFC interim light heavyweight titleholder, who fights Daniel Cormier in the UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) main event this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, is widely regarded as the best mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter alive.
Is that enough to earn a call back from one of boxing’s best ever?
Time will tell.
