Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is on the hunt for a new main event after canceling the welterweight bout between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, according to TMZ, which was expected to headline the UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) on July 9, 2016 inside the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Fortunately for Dana White and Co., they may not have to look very far.

That’s because Jon Jones has already volunteered to fill the “Notorious” hole in a title unification bout against heated rival Daniel Cormier. In fact, that announcement could come as early as this weekend after “Bones” finishes up his duties in “Sin City.”

“Absolutely, I’d totally step in to UFC 200 and fill in that main event slot,” Jones told the mixed martial arts (MMA) media on Wednesday. “Is there anybody else on both? I would love to be the first guy to fight at UFC 100 and 200.”

But let’s not put the cart before the horse.

Jones still has to get past light heavyweight contender Ovince Saint Preux in the main event of UFC 197, which takes place this Saturday night (April 23, 2016) inside MGM Grand Garden Arena, also in Las Vegas, Nevada, as a result of Cormier’s injury.

I guess “Bones” doesn’t mind handing out all those fliers.
