Prior to Jose Aldo’s knockout loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 194 (see it again here), the former featherweight king was sitting at the top of the pound-for-pound rankings.
Now, the most updated list shows “Junior” falling to No. 6 while Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson occupies the top spot. That means Jon Jones — the former longtime owner of the No. 1 spot — is still in second place.
“Bones,” however, doesn’t mind being runner up to an amazing fighter like “Mighty Mouse.”
It’s all just opinion, I don’t mind being second to him. He does amazing things in that cage https://t.co/IbWEB7Ddf6

As for Aldo, well, I’m sure he could care less about losing the top spot, as he’s always stated that the mythical pound-for-pound list is “useless” in the grand scheme of things.
Jones will soon have the chance to reclaim top honors, as a win over current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will be good enough reason to sway voters in his favor.
But at the end of the day, it’s simply a matter of opinion… right?
