Jon Jones will deal with Daniel Cormier at UFC 214, then deal with Brock Lesnar

Could this fight actually happen?

Jon Jones recently stated he was interested in a “massive fight” against former UFC Heavyweight

champion Brock Lesnar during a Facebook live chat. In response, Brock declared he’d be down for a

“Bones” throw down “anytime, anywhere.”

And during today’s (Wed., July 26, 2017) pre-fight press conference to promote this weekend’s (Sat.,

July 29, 2017) rematch between Jones and Cormier at UFC 214 in Anaheim, California, UFC president

Dana White was asked about the possibility of putting the fight together.

“It’s crazy, I don’t know where that thing came from or how it started. But, I haven’t even talked to

Brock Lesnar,” said White. “I am telling you right now, I have not talked to Brock Lesnar.”

For his part, “Bones” said he himself has not talked to Lesnar, either, but said he’d worry about “The

Beast Incarnate” after he takes care of business in Anaheim.

“I’ll deal with Daniel, then I’ll deal with Brock Lesnar,” said Jones.

Still, UFC officials have denied that Brock has actually re-entered the USADA drug testing pool in

anticipation for return to mixed marital arts (MMA). That said, since WME-IMG took over almost a year

ago, they haven’t shied away from making the biggest fights possible.

And if it makes money, it makes sense.

But, as Jones stated, he first must go up 2-0 against his bitter rival Cormier in one of the most-stacked

cards of the year before he shifts his attention to the biggest challenge of his MMA career…literally.
