Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight No. 1 contender, Khabib Nurmagomedov, is sick and tired of all the yapping from fellow top contender Tony Ferguson as they build up to their UFC 209 pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event, locked and loaded for March 4, 2017 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
That’s why “The Eagle,” currently a -185 favorite, is going to teach “El Cucuy” a lesson on fight night, according to his conversation with FOX Sports.
A very painful lesson.
“When I fought with Michael Johnson, when I took his arm for the kimura, I can break it but I go very slowly, be careful because I don’t want to give him injury. Because I understand (the) fight was finished. I need only to go a little bit slowly and he tapped. If Tony Ferguson gives me this arm, I’m going to break his arm like Frank Mir-(Antonio Rodrigo) Nogueira.”
Mir crushed Nogueira’s arm “like a bag of potato chips” at UFC 140 in late 2011.
The winner of Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson is expected to move on to fight reigning lightweight champion Conor McGregor when “Notorious” returns from paternity leave later this year. Unless something crazy (like this) happens between now and then.
