Let the hype begin.
UFC 229 is less than a month away, and the promotional pitch for the mega-card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will begin in earnest a week from Thursday, Sept. 20, with a press conference at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor, and UFC president Dana White will be on hand for the event, which is scheduled for 5 p.m. E.T.
Although the event will be streamed online, the press conference itself is closed to the general public and is only open to credentialed media.
Nurmagomedov (26-0) will compete for the first time since defeating Al Iaquinta to capture the vacant lightweight title at UFC 223. McGregor (21-3) returns to the Octagon for the first time since Nov. 2016, when he defeated Eddie Alvarez at Madison Square Garden at UFC 205 to win the lightweight belt while already holding the featherweight title.
