Mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Mike Pyle looked to get back into the win column when he met Alex Garcia earlier tonight (Fri., Dec. 30, 2016) at UFC 207 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a battle of desperate welterweights. While Pyle’s longevity in the sport is something to commend, he didn’t do much inside of the cage at UFC 207.
Garcia controlled the action from the opening bell, offering combinations along the cage and a timely takedown to slow down “Quicksand.” After Pyle got back to his feet, Garcia landed a flush right hand to his chin and put the veteran to sleep. Garcia refused to step in to land extra shots as he admired his own first-round knockout finish.

With this win, Garcia moves back into the win column at 170 pounds. At just 29 years of age, Garcia still holds enough potential to one day challenge the top 10. As a memeber of Tristar Gym up in Canada, he could be in for a big 2017 campaign if he can maintain his hard-hitting ways.
