Cody Garbrandt continues to roll! Not long after knocking out Thomas Almeida in the very first round to prove he’s the true top prospect in the entire Bantamweight division, he struck again earlier tonight (Sat. Aug., 20, 2016) at UFC 202, which took place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. “No Love” proved it once again, knocking out Takeya Mizugaki in less than one minute of the opening round of their 135-pound scrap. After tagging Mizugaki with a clean right that dropped him like a sack of potatoes, he followed it up with another right that folded his foe like a lawn chair.
After a few more blows for good measure, the referee on duty pulled Cody of the fallen Mizugaki to prevent further unnecessary punishment. After the win, “No Love” proceeded to call out division champion Dominick Cruz, who was in the building holding it down with his broadcasting duties. And to no one’s surprise, “The Dominator” was open to the bout.
Let’s get it on, indeed!
