The return of “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung finally came to fruition last night (Sat., Feb. 4, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 104 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, as the 29-year-old featherweight made his comeback opposite divisional staple Dennis Bermudez. It was the first time Jung had competed since losing to Jose Aldo for the 145-pound strap back at UFC 163 in 2013.
Bermudez wasted no time in testing the legendary chin of Jung, landing a vicious right hand early into the first round. But after regrouping and collecting his wits, “Korean Zombie” pressed forward, invited Bermudez into a brawl and landed a huge uppercut knockout in the process. It was quite the finish and the first-round knockout we’ve grown accustomed to seeing from the one and only “Korean Zombie.”

With this win, Jung has to move right back into title contention in the 145-pound division. He didn’t really show any signs of the massive three year layoff and proved that his chin is as durable as it ever was. Bermudez is a true test at the featherweight level and had only been finished once before in his 21-fight career.
