Despite fighting just over three weeks ago at Bellator 157 back on June 24 and finishing Carl Seumanutafa via first-round knockout, Matt Mitrione made his way back to the Bellator MMA cage tonight (Sat., July 16, 2016) at The O2 Arena in London, England, to take on mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Oli Thompson.
In typical “Meathead” fashion, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight standout offered too much power for the Englishman to handle. After a back-and-forth first round, Mitrione began to tag Thompson inside in the second. His efforts landed him yet another knockout victory under the Bellator banner.

This knockout proves that Mitrione can in fact hold down a big part of the Bellator spotlight . He’s a savvy veteran who understands how to promote a fight and show up with heavy leather when the action gets going.
Look for Mitrione to continue his winning ways as he works his way up the divisional ladder.
