Saturday’s KSW 39 event in Warsaw, Poland sold more tickets than the UFC’s Melbourne stadium show in 2015.
With more than 56,600 tickets sold for the highly-anticipated stadium show, KSW 39 has officially beaten the UFC’s attendance record set in 2015.
The event, which takes place inside Poland’s largest arena, will feature KSW’s most ambitious event line-up. The record-breaking show will be headlined by current KSW champions Mamed Khalidov and Borys Mańkowski, while Mariusz Pudzianowski and and the debut of Olympic bronze medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling Damian Janikowski will also be featured on the card.
Having surpassed the UFC’s company attendance record of 56, 214, KSW co-owner Martin Lewandowski made the announcement official via social media.
“KSW is often compared with the UFC,” Lewandowski stated. “Let’s talk about the facts. KSW Colosseum sold more tickets than the UFC’s largest event in history in Melbourne. We have nothing to be ashamed of. A small Polish company has overtaken global giant! If Dana White is looking for work, we can always talk.”
The KSW 39 event is scheduled to take place at the Warsaw National Stadium on May 27. The entire event will be streamed online via Internet PPV on www.kswtv.com
