Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe is confident that Mayweather is prepared for anything McGregor might bring to the table.
As the McGregor/Mayweather spectacle draws nearer, many pundits anticipate that ‘The Notorious’ will try to catch Mayweather off guard with something he’s never seen before in the boxing ring.
Earlier today, Conor McGregor posted a picture of himself leaping in the air whilst sparring former two-weight boxing world champion turned analyst and commentator, Paulie Malignaggi.
Another handy 12 rounds today. We are prepared to destroy Floyd. Pick whatever size gloves you want as well little man. I fight with 4oz. I don’t give a fuck about the size of the glove. I am coming sprinting at you with bricks. Know that. Brittle hands.
Malignaggi, 36, told reporters that McGregor does have an awkward style that can take some time to adjust to, but Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe is confident that ‘Money’ will be prepared for anything come Aug. 26.
“I think he brings a lot of things to the fight,” Ellerbe told Fight Hub TV when asked if Mayweather was prepared for a superman punch. “He has an awkward style that is kinda difficult to prepare for, and he’s very strong. He has great timing. I’m impressed.
“You gotta respect the guy. When he says he’s gonna do something, he’s been doing it. He’s not gonna do that to Floyd Mayweather, but he’s been able to do that.”
McGregor, the current UFC lightweight champion, will take on Mayweather in a 12-round boxing match on August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
