Leslie Smith will be returning to the Octagon in July.
The veteran has been scheduled to face Sweden’s Lina Lansberg in a women’s bantamweight contest at UFC Fight Night 113 on July 16 at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, according to the UFC on Tuesday.
Smith last competed in December where she outpointed UFC newcomer Irene Aldana in a Fight of the Night at UFC on FOX 22. Prior to that, Smith had suffered a technical knockout loss to Cris Cyborg at UFC 198. The 34-year-old former Invicta FC title challenger is currently 9-7-1 in her MMA career, and 3-3 since joining the UFC.
Meanwhile, Lansberg competed earlier this year at UFC Fight Night 107 where she outpointed Lucie Pudilova in a unanimous decision. The victory over Pudilova marked Lansberg’s first win in the UFC, as she had lost her promotional debut against Cris Cyborg in the main event of UFC Fight Night 95 back in September. Lansberg, 35, is 7-2 in her MMA career.
Welterweights Gunnar Nelson and Santiago Ponzinibbio are scheduled to headline the card.
