Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will attempt to restore order to the light heavyweight division with the return of Jon Jones, who wants to reclaim the 205-pound title that was stripped from his waist back in 2015.
He’ll have to settle for the interim strap until Daniel Cormier recovers from injury.
That’s assuming he can defeat streaking 205-pound contender Ovince Saint Preux at the upcoming UFC 197 pay-per-view (PPV) event, taking place a week from Saturday (April 23, 2016) inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
More on how that came to be here.
In the UFC 197 five-round championship co-main event, flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson will face his toughest test to date in Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo, who joins “Mighty Mouse” — as well as Jones and Saint Preux — on today’s media conference call.
The proceedings get underway this afternoon (Fri., April 15, 2016) at 2 p.m. ET in the embedded audio player above and for the rest of the UFC 197 fight card and line up click here.
