The UFC’s March 21st card in London, England is steadily filling up.
UFC officials confirmed on Tuesday that entertaining featherweight Makwan Amirkhani will square off against English wrestler Mike Grundy at The O2 Arena. The entire card is expected to stream live on ESPN+.
Amirkhani (15-4) suffered his first (T)KO loss of his career back at UFC 244, absorbing a lot of damage from Shane Burgos before finally the fight was called off with 28 seconds left in the final round. The charismatic “Mr. Finland” is 5-2 in the UFC overall, with his most recent win coming by submission against Chris Fishgold at UFC Stockholm in June.
Grundy (12-1) is on a nine-fight winning streak. The 2014 Commonwealth Games freestyle wrestling bronze medalist had a successful UFC debut, using his striking to put away Nad Narimani in the second-round of last year’s UFC London card. Grundy was scheduled to face Movsar Evloev at UFC China last August but withdrew due to injury.
UFC London doesn’t have a main event officially announced, although it’s been reported that Tyron Woodley vs. Leon Edwards could serve as the night’s headliner.
