Conor McGregor is never short on options.
The UFC lightweight champion has yet to reveal the plans for his next fight after cashing in on a blockbuster boxing match against Floyd Mayweather this past August, and he may be convinced to return to the ring after receiving a friendly Instagram message from multiple-time world champion Manny Pacquiao on Thursday:
Happy Thanksgiving! Stay fit my friend. #realboxingmatch #2018 @thenotoriousmma
In the post, Pacquiao wishes McGregor a happy Thanksgiving before adding the hashtags #realboxingmatch and #2018 while make sure to tag the MMA superstar.
Pacquiao, 38, ended a brief retirement last year to embark on what appears to be one last run in his storied fighting career. He defeated Jessie Vargas in November 2016 before being upset by the unheralded Jeff Horn this past July. Neither bout came close to matching Pacquiao’s past pay-per-view success (the Horn match was actually broadcast live on ESPN, where it drew strong viewership numbers), so a crossover bout with “The Notorious” could be just what Pacquiao is looking for to close out his career with a bang.
