Mark Hunt knows a thing or two about the walk-off knockout.

The 41-year-old powerhouse striker has mastered the art of the one-shot stopper, most recently finishing Frank Mir with a single blow Saturday at UFC Fight Night 85 in Brisbane, Australia.

To some, the stoppage appeared premature. But Hunt saw something different that signaled the end.

“Frank, he was still in the dark lands when I saw him [after landing the punch],” Hunt said during the post-fight press conference. “His face was still…he wasn’t there, so I just left it. He wasn’t there. He was out, somewhere else.”

After some laughter from those in attendance, Hunt elaborated on his original statement.

“Well, it’s true,” Hunt continued. “He wasn’t there. He was blacked out.”

Moving forward, Hunt believes he’s ready for a matchup against one of the heavyweight division’s top dogs. While he has already been defeated by top-five fighters Junior dos Santos, Stipe Miocic, Alistair Overeem and champion Fabricio Werdum, Hunt likes his chances in a rematch.

“I’d fight any of the top guys,” Hunt said. “I could rematch any of those guys – JDS, Stipe, the guy with the belt…Fabricio…I’ve never lost a rematch, so I’d like to rematch any one of those guys.”
