community news, Mark Hunt wants half of Brock Lesnars UFC 200 purse, threatens with UFC release

Forget about the WWE or Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fans who feel slighted upon hearing that Brock Lesnar potentially violated United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) policy.

Mark Hunt, who actually competed against the potentially manufactured Lesnar at UFC 200, should be the most angered party of them all. The 42-year-old knockout artist not only fought Lesnar for three hard rounds back on July 9, but he did so as a clean fighter.

In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Hunt held nothing back in expressing his disgust regarding Lesnar’s USADA violation and the epic fight purse the WWE superstar earned to compete at UFC 200.

“The cheaters get a slap on the wrist and walk off,” said Hunt. “What penalty or deterrent is there to make them think twice? Nothing. And the [Nevada Athletic Commission], why should these [expletive] get anything? They are not the ones who had to fight with Lesnar or lose [to him]. I lost.”

Hunt added that he wants half of Lesnar’s $2.5 million fight purse for retribution or he wants to be immediately released from his UFC contract.

While it’s likely that “Super Samoan” is reacting emotionally to the Lesnar news, he does have a point. Guys who fight and lose to opponents competing with an unfair advantage should be compensated one way or another, outside of their fight purses and pay-per-view (PPV) percentages.
