Matt Hughes sues twin brother over farm tractor involved in alleged assault of nephew

Matt Hughes is fighting back in court. This time, he is going head-to-head against his twin brother Mark over the ownership of a tractor that was a subject of a previous restraining order.

In October, Mark filed a lawsuit claiming that the UFC Hall-of-Famer assaulted his 15-year-old son Marshall. The incident allegedly took place last September 23rd.

“Matt approached the tractor and when my son got out of the tractor to ask his uncle what he needed, Matt physically assaulted my 15-year-old son by grabbing him and shaking him, all the while telling him that it’s his (expletive) tractor,” Mark said in a previous written statement.

Now, the said John Deere 8410 tractor is the subject of Matt’s lawsuit. In the suit aptly named Hughes vs. Hughes, the former long-time welterweight champion is seeking an official ruling from a judge regarding ownership of the aforementioned piece of farm equipment.

The news of Hughes’ lawsuit was reported by MMAjunkie.

Hughes wants a judge to decide who owns the equipment and other personal property he claims is being held at Mark Hughes’ residence. No monetary damages are named in the suit – Hughes vs. Hughes – filed on March 5 in Montgomery County (Ill.) circuit court.

In late-February, Matt was given a restraining order after his wife Audra filed a domestic violence complaint. He immediately released a statement a day later denying all claims, but just last week, Audra bared more details about his alleged abuse, claiming she had been assaulted in front of her children and stepfather.
