A welterweight fight between strikers Max Griffin and Curtis Millender for UFC 226.
A pair of welterweights coming off impressive wins are set to fight each other on July 7th.
MMAjunkie reported on Friday that Max Griffin and Curtis Millender are expected to fight at UFC 226 in Lsa Vegas, Nevada. An official announcement should be made soon.
Griffin (14-4) is coming off a brilliant performance against the favored Mike Perry, scoring a knockdown and winning a unanimous decision. He has a record of 2-2 inside the Octagon, with his other win coming via 54-second knockout of Erick Montano. His two losses were thrilling decision vs. Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos and a TKO at the hands of Colby Covington.
Millender (15-3) is on a seven-fight winning streak, and at UFC Austin in February, “Curtious” Curtis spectacularly knocked out former welterweight title challenger Thiago Alves with a well-timed knee. The ex-Bellator fighter made a big splash in Legacy Fighting Alliance, scoring consecutive head kick knockouts on his way to a UFC contract.
UFC 226 features a pair of title fights, as heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic defends his belt against light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, while featherweight titleholder Max Holloway takes on Brian Ortega in the co-main event.
