Mayweather-McGregor tickets now being sold at Costco for all the housewives in Iowa

Promoters attached to the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor boxing match, which may include UFC and a few others by the end of next week, are not surprised the tickets for this month’s combat sports spectacle have not sold out.

That includes Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe, who recognizes that tickets priced as high as $10,000 don’t exactly fly off the shelves. That’s why discount outlets are now selling seats for what’s being dubbed “The Money Fight.”

“You guys are always complaining and looking for shit to complain about when there’s nothing there. That’s the reason we can’t be innovative,” Ellerbe told the combat sports media on Thursday. “Someone said to me something about tickets on sale at Costco. We don’t have nothing to do with that. If you think about it, is that a bad thing? Opening this thing up to a housewife in Desmond, Iowa … Kansas … someone who normally wouldn’t have access to our fight.”

Don’t waste any time selling to those 40-year-old soccer moms in Lodi, they are a fickle bunch.

Mayweather and McGregor will collide on Sat., Aug. 26, 2017 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a fight that Ellerbe claims has already grossed $60 million at the box office, with another few hundred million expected to come in by way of Showtime pay-per-view (PPV).

Assuming the price tag (see it) doesn’t scare those housewives away.
