Mayweather’s entourage could invite Nate Diaz to walkout alongside the boxing great for the Conor McGregor fight.
The MayMac media world tour might have come to its conclusion, but expect Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor to trade verbal barbs all the way up to fight night on August 26.
Mayweather, 49-0, frequently insulted ‘The Notorious’ for tapping out to Nate Diaz at UFC 196 and, according to ‘Love & Hip Hop’ star Jason Lee, who was part of Mayweather’s entourage for the London press conference, ‘The Money Team’ will be inviting Diaz to walk out with ‘The Best Ever’ on fight night.
“I’m gonna make the call to Nate Diaz,” Lee told TMZ in a recent interview. “I would love to see him walk out with Floyd. Hell yea, that would be awesome for the town.
“He’s from Stockton; we’re from Stockton! Stockton people are almost on the level of a Ferrari. We’re gonna keep doing what it stays to stay relevant.”
Diaz, a proud native of Stockton, California, has trolled McGregor for accepting the fight with Mayweather and would be wise to accept Lee’s offer to ramp up interest for a trilogy bout with the Irishman.
Diaz submitted McGregor with a rear-naked choke last year but lost via majority decision in the pulsating five-round rematch at UFC 202.
The Californian hasn’t fought since, and a walkout with Mayweather would make for a great publicity stunt.
Mayweather vs. McGregor, which looks set to smash all PPV records, takes place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
