Watch Bisping mock top-ranked middleweight contender Yoel Romero on UFC Tonight.
Having to watch Michael Bisping defend his UFC middleweight title against the newly-returned Georges St-Pierre is bad enough for Yoel Romero, but the Brit rubbed even more salt into the wound on Wednesday’s edition of UFC Tonight.
When asked by host Karyn Bryant how ‘Soldier of God’ would campaign for his next opponent, ‘The Count’ mocked Romero with a hilarious impersonation.
“I love you, Mike!” Bisping yelled while crouched down with a cut out of Romero’s face. “I love you, Mike! Let’s fight right now. I’m a caveman!”
Bisping went on to swing his arms while impersonating Romero and called the Cuban a ‘loser’.
“I don’t care what Yoel likes. He’s a loser,” Bisping said, per Damon Martin of FOX Sports. “We know that.”
The reigning middleweight champion was expected to defend his title against Romero after beating Dan Henderson in Manchester at UFC 204, but the UFC decided to book Bisping against former welterweight champ St-Pierre, who will return to the sport after spending over three years on the sidelines.
Bisping has been bombarded with criticism for accepting the fight, but the 38-year-old suggested a top contender’s bout between Romero and Luke Rockhold while he takes care of business against GSP.
Rockhold, 32, hasn’t fought since losing the MW strap to Bisping last year, while the No. 3 ranked ‘Jacare’ Souza feels like he has been completely overlooked by the UFC.
Bisping’s title defense against St-Pierre was announced earlier this month and is expected to take place during international fight week in July. No official date or venue has been confirmed.
