One of the great things about covering Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Michael Bisping, which we’ve been doing since “The Count” made his debut on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 3, is that he always gives the mixed martial arts (MMA) community something to talk about.
Remember when spitballs were still a thing?
Bisping’s latest adventure — which takes place outside the Octagon — includes a trip to London’s High Court, where he’s embroiled in a messy contract dispute with his former gym, Wolfslair Academy, and its owner, Anthony McGann.
That’s according to Liverpool Echo.
McGann claims Bisping violated the terms of his Wolfslair contract and seeks damages in the neighborhood of $350,000. “The Count,” however, claims the paperwork was forged and that his former manager threatened to kill him.
Death threats are soooo 2016.
Bisping left Wolfslair in 2012, which earned him the label of “traitor” from this former UFC champion.
The Brit’s next fight is still up in the air, as promotion president Dana White recently put the kibosh on his Georges St-Pierre super fight. Until then, the only fighting Bisping will do is inside the courtroom.
