Michael Bisping picked up the biggest win of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career by taking a unanimous decision victory over Anderson Silva at UFC Fight Night 84 in London, England a few weeks ago.

When you couple that with the fact that he’s won four of five in the stacked middleweight division, it’s no wonder why “The Count” is pining for a shot at the division strap.
After all, as he recently declared on The MMA Hour, if Nate Diaz is in talks to getting a welterweight title fight after beating a featherweight in Conor McGregor (highlights), then he should get one after taking out the greatest of all time.
“Of course I want that title fight. I think Luke Rockhold beats Chris Weidman again. No disrespect to Chris, he was a great champion and is a great fighter. I think Rockhold gets the job done, again, and I would like that rematch. I just beat Anderson Silva and I think that sells it in itself. I have won four out of five, I’ve fought nothing but the best fighters in the world, and people have had title shots for… Nate Diaz is looking at maybe getting a title shot against Robbie Lawler for beating a 145’r. Regardless of who that 145’r was, now he gets a welterweight title shot? Come on man, I just beat Anderson Silva.”
Solid points all around.
Of course, Diaz getting a shot against Lawler is a long shot, even though some top UFC officials are keen on the idea.
Nevertheless, regardless of what happens with the Stockton slugger, there is no denying the fact that Bisping has put in the work, beaten the top guys and is deserving of a championship fight — one that has eluded him over the years.
