Ronda Rousey vs Miesha Tate-478x270

UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate and former titleholder Ronda Rousey have quite the history.

Tate won the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title by submitting Marloes Coenen in 2011. She lost the belt in her first title defense, falling victim to Rousey’s arm bar in the first round.

After an injury forced Cat Zingano out of her The Ultimate Fighter 18 coaching position opposite Rousey, Tate was brought in as her replacement. Their dislike for each other played out on television in the fall of 2013. At the conclusion of the season, Tate and Rousey fought for a second time.

With Rousey’s UFC title on the line, the fight lasted longer than their previous meeting in Strikeforce, but the outcome was the same. Rousey submitted Tate by arm bar in the third round to retain her title.

With the possible trilogy with Rousey waiting down the road, Tate wanted a quick turnaround and accepted a bout with Amanda Nunes, set for UFC 200 in July. While she has her next opponent ahead, Tate says she still has scores to settle with Rousey.
