“Cupcake” still desires a matchup with UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm, but will heed the numerous calls of “Pitbull.”
Aside from the obvious question on the minds of many in the mixed martial arts (MMA) world, which is when Ronda Rousey will make her return to UFC following a debilitating knockout loss (video) at the hands of Holly Holm, is who will No. 2-ranked women’s Bantamweight contender Miesha Tate face next?
Following an intervention by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White, in which the former revoked “Cupcake’s” shot at the ex-women’s Bantamweight queenpin “Rowdy,” the 29-year-old contemplated retirement.
But, after Rousey’s title loss last month at the UFC 193 pay-per-view (PPV), it seemed like Tate was back in the mix atop the female 135-pound class and ready to challenge “Preacher’s Daughter.”
Unfortunately, White has other plans once again, which means Tate could take another bout against former title challenger Bethe Correira in the interim.
