MMA SQUARED: 2019 Mid-Year Review

95 0

Welcome to MMA Squared, and thank you for reading this editorial cartoon series. I’m so grateful to the Bloody Elbow readers that have clicked, commented, and otherwise received my work. This has been a great adventure, staying both creative and disciplined, navigating the sport and putting together what’s turning into a cool, strange gallery of artwork.

I’ll be taking next week off from cartooning, and have some supplemental work prepared for my absence which I hope you enjoy; it’s quite ambitious.

Let’s get started. In no particular order, here is the MMA Squared 2019 Mid-Year Collection!

Gregor Gillespie, the best fisherman in MMA looks like he could be one of the best lightweights in the UFC

Henry Cejudo has put some serious names on his resume.

Fedor fought. The run up was anxiously exciting but the knockout loss to Ryan Bader was rough to watch.

Maybe Georges St. Pierre retired. Maybe.

We saw Showtime, one more time. Anthony Pettis

The new PPV system was announced and we are officially in a new era.

The fight of the year contender so far made us ask a question.

TJ Dillashaw has been having a rough year.

Welcome to the big leagues, Ben Askren

Johnny Walker is a thing now.

Jorge Masvidal meme’d three piece and a soda.

As always, take care of yourself and I’ll talk to you soon.

Chris
