Another weekend of fisticuffs has come and gone, as UFC Fight Night 92 went down last Saturday night (Aug. 6, 2016) inside Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. Plenty of fighters were left licking their wounds, including Rony Jason, who was battered and bruised by Dennis Bermudez in the co-main event of the night (see it again here). Chris Camozzi — who was submitted in the third round of his Middleweight showdown against former title contender Thales Leites (full recap here) — is also headed back to the drawing board this morning.
But, which fighter is suffering from the worst post-fight hangover now 48 hours removed from the show? Alex Caceres.
Heading into Salt Lake City, “Bruce Leeroy” looked to pick up the biggest win of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, facing off against rising Mexican prospect, Yair Rodriguez, in the headlining bout of the FOX Sports 1-televised event. Despite entertaining fans for five rounds thanks to an array of fancy moves and plenty of “spinning shit” from both men to make your head spin (highlights), Caceres didn’t do enough to convince judges to give him the “W,” as he ultimately came up on the wrong end of a split-decision loss.
And Caceres is well aware, admitting afterward that he could have — and should have — done more in the 145-pound showdown.
